I was looking for someone to take me out in higher winds on my Dart 18, as I enjoy pushing the boundaries a little and wanted to find the limits of the boat. After exhausting all options with the local sailing school, I bumped into Paul, who went on to tell me about his sailing in a 60 mph wind story, he seemed like the man for the job! We picked a good day, the wind was peaking at 43 mph, and we managed to capsize in the first 5 minutes; a useful drill followed later by another unplanned drill in the form of a pitchpole which I managed to perform beautifully! I found Paul to be extremely knowledgeable, very clear in his teaching and technical in his knowledge, he gave me a sense of confidence in my sailing. Above all though I found him great fun, it was an all round highly enjoyable and educational experience, he really is a pleasure to sail with!
